About Lasso

Lasso is a values-first matching platform for people who want to build a family. We match you with others who share your vision for raising kids — whether that means co-parenting, partnership, or something entirely new. This isn't about romance or swiping. It's about alignment on the things that actually matter.

No. Lasso is not a dating app. Physical chemistry and romantic attraction are not part of the matching equation. We focus exclusively on values alignment — how you think about trust, conflict, money, boundaries, and the big questions of family life. Some matches may develop into romantic partnerships, but that's not the goal or the expectation.

Lasso is for anyone who wants to raise children with a values-aligned partner or co-parent. That includes people trying for the first time, people who already have kids, couples looking for a co-parenting partner, and people still figuring out what their path looks like. There's no single profile — just a shared commitment to doing this intentionally.

When you join Lasso, you complete the Reflection — a series of questions across eight dimensions of family life (trust, conflict, money, adventure, spirituality, dreams, boundaries, and family). Your answers generate a Blueprint, which is a map of your values. We compare Blueprints to find people with high alignment across the dimensions that matter most. We also factor in your preferences for age range, gender, and what you're looking for.

Lasso is free during our early access period. We're building something new and we want the right people in the room as we shape it. Down the road, there may be a membership model, but early members will always be taken care of.

Most co-parenting platforms start with logistics — location, timeline, legal structure. Lasso starts with values. We believe the strongest families are built on shared principles, not shared spreadsheets. The Reflection process goes deep on how you handle conflict, what you believe about money, how you think about boundaries with kids. That foundation is what makes the difference.

How It Works

The Reflection is Lasso's onboarding questionnaire. It walks you through eight dimensions of family life with scenario-based questions — not personality quiz fluff, but real trade-offs you'd face as a parent or co-parent. It takes about 15–20 minutes and produces your Blueprint.

Your Blueprint is a visual map of your values across eight dimensions: trust, conflict, money, adventure, spirituality, dreams, boundaries, and family. Each dimension is scored on a spectrum. Your Blueprint powers the matching engine and is visible on your profile so matches can see where you align (and where you differ).

The Handshake is a good-faith agreement that every Lasso member signs before seeing matches. It's a set of principles about honesty, respect, and showing up with integrity. Think of it as the community standard — a shared commitment that everyone in the room has agreed to.

Once you've completed the Reflection and signed The Handshake, you can generate matches from your Matches page. The algorithm compares your Blueprint against other members', filters by your preferences (gender, age range, needs), and surfaces the strongest alignments. You'll see an overall alignment score plus a breakdown by dimension.

When you and a match both accept the connection, you enter an 8-week guided conversation. Each week introduces a new topic — starting with easy ground (values, backgrounds) and gradually going deeper (parenting philosophy, money, conflict styles, long-term vision). The prompts are designed to surface the real conversations before you're in too deep.

After completing the 8-week conversation, you and your match will have a thorough understanding of each other's values and approach to family. What happens next is up to you — Lasso gives you the foundation, but the relationship is yours to build.

Privacy & Safety

Your profile is only visible to people you've matched with. Other members cannot browse profiles or search for you. Your Blueprint scores are shared with matches to show alignment, but the raw answers to your Reflection questions are never shared.

Yes. Conversations between matched members are end-to-end encrypted. Lasso cannot read your messages. Only you and your match can see what's said in your conversation thread.

If someone violates The Handshake principles or makes you feel unsafe, use the contact form below to reach us directly. Include the person's display name and a description of what happened. We take reports seriously and will act quickly.

Yes. Contact us using the form below and we'll delete your account and all associated data. We're working on a self-service option — for now, we handle it manually and promptly.

Nominations & Community

Nominations let you invite someone you think would be a great Lasso member. When you nominate someone, you vouch for their character by answering a short calibration survey. If they sign up, both of you earn badges that signal trust to the community.

Badges are trust signals that appear on your profile. They're earned by completing milestones: finishing the Reflection, signing The Handshake, being nominated by an existing member, and more. Matches can see your badges, which helps build confidence before connecting.
