Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lasso ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. Lasso is operated by Lasso, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 21 years old to use Lasso. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Registration

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hi@tandemcg.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. The Handshake

Before accessing matches, you must read and sign The Handshake — a good-faith agreement to engage with honesty, respect, and seriousness of purpose. Violation of The Handshake may result in account suspension or termination.

4a. Code of Conduct

Your use of Lasso is also governed by our Code of Conduct, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Violations of the Code of Conduct are violations of these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misrepresent your identity, intentions, or qualifications
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Use the Platform for commercial solicitation or spam
• Attempt to access other users' private data
• Circumvent security measures or rate limits
• Share login credentials with third parties
• Use automated tools to scrape or interact with the Platform

6. Content

You retain ownership of content you create (reflections, messages, profile information). By posting content, you grant Lasso a limited license to display it within the Platform for matching and communication purposes. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.

7. Messaging & Encryption

Conversations between matched users are end-to-end encrypted. Lasso cannot read the content of your messages. If you lose your encryption key (e.g., by clearing browser data or switching devices), message history cannot be recovered — by you or by us. We strongly recommend downloading a key backup from your Account page. You are responsible for safeguarding that backup: anyone who obtains it can read your Lasso messages.

8. Matching

Lasso provides values-based matching as a tool, not a guarantee. We do not guarantee compatibility, safety, or outcomes of any match. You are responsible for your own decisions about whom to meet and how to proceed.

9. Reporting & Safety

You can report or block users who violate these Terms, The Handshake, or the Code of Conduct. When reporting from a conversation, you may choose to attach your decrypted copy of recent messages as evidence; by doing so you consent to our safety team reviewing those messages for that report. We review reports and may take action including warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans. We are not responsible for the actions of individual users.

9a. Not Professional Advice

Lasso is a matching and communication platform. Nothing on the Platform — including match scores, alignment reports, conversation prompts, or any content we provide — constitutes legal, medical, psychological, or financial advice. Co-parenting and family formation arrangements have serious legal and medical dimensions that vary by jurisdiction. Before entering any family formation arrangement, consult a licensed attorney and appropriate medical professionals. Trust badges are signals of steps a user has completed on Lasso; they are not a guarantee of any person's identity, character, or intentions.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from your Account page. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data including your Blueprint, matches, conversations, nominations, and badges.

11. Limitation of Liability

Lasso is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
